The Minecraft Education – 5-School Pilot Program was implemented by SOS Children's Villages Jordan in partnership with Maysalward, with the support of the Ministry of Education, as an initiative designed to strengthen climate education through digital learning and game-based pedagogy.
The program equipped teachers with the knowledge, practical skills, and digital competencies required to integrate climate education into classroom practice using Minecraft Education as an interactive learning platform. Teachers were empowered to guide students in exploring environmental challenges, developing creative solutions, and applying project-based learning methodologies that foster collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Implementation combined intensive professional development with continuous mentoring, technical support, and school-based project work. Following the face-to-face training, teachers applied their acquired knowledge within their schools by leading student teams in the development of climate-focused Minecraft Education projects aligned with the program's objectives.
Beyond building digital competencies, the program promoted environmental awareness and encouraged students to become active contributors to climate action by translating real-world environmental concepts into interactive virtual experiences inside Minecraft Education.
